What is the consumer reviews for the 2004 Toyota Camry Solara according to edmunds?

I bought this new in 2004. It's reliable and I've never had any major problems with it, except cosmetically. The paint scratches very easily and the interior plastic panels came loose multiple times and I had to take it to several dealers before they fixed it for good. I wish for the money the car had a more quality interior. Mileage is excellent. The tire pressure monitor is way too sensitive and I wish it told you the pressure- sometimes it goes off it there is too much air in the tire, but you have to check the tires BEFORE adding air for this reason. The snow guard or whatever under the car came loose a few times when other people drove my car and the driver seat can come loose.

Favorite Features
On wheel controls, leather seats, heated seats

Suggested Improvements
Less plastic, more luxury. More comfortable seats (not so bucket-y!) and power passenger seat adjustments. Rear AC and same access to back seat on driver side as passenger side. Better pickup when changing gears- it hesitates sometimes and has almost caused accidents.

What is the consumer reviews for the 2003 Toyota Camry Solara according to edmunds?

Bought this car used last year, and I've been driving it daily. Quite reliable, especially because the engine has been used by Toyota for quite some years. However, since the engine is old technology, there are much more powerful engines and transmissions out there. Gas mileage is not good enough, compared to the new V6s out there. Automatic transmission is not responsive enough, loses power starting second gear. Interior is very comfortable though. Cannot find another car this soft and comfy except maybe American cars. Sound system is only better than average. Ride is floaty at high speed, suspension is comfortable but too soft for spirited driving. User features are limited.

Favorite Features
Comfortable seats. Smooth acceleration. Quiet interior.

Suggested Improvements
Larger armrest. Manual transmission for V6. Sports-tuned suspension. Steering wheel stereo control. Telescopic steering wheel.

According to edmunds for the 2002 Toyota Camry Solara.

More power is in store from a new 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. On the outside, Toyota has added a redesigned front grille and bumper, new headlights and taillights and a bolder rear bumper. A new appearance package (only available on the SE Coupe) includes alloy center caps for the wheels, a three-spoke perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, black trim and Black Pearl emblems. Rounding out the changes are standard daytime running lights, optional seat heaters (coupes only) and a trunk-opener function for the keyless remote.

Toyota has an all-new 2002 Camry this year, and it looks to be significantly better than the previous one. While the 2002 Camry Solara has "Camry" in its name and has freshened front and rear styling, don't be hoodwinked; the Solara is still built on the previous Camry platform, and will likely continue this way until the Spring of 2003.

Is this a bad thing? Not necessarily. With its own distinctive sheetmetal and a convertible roof option, the Solara does have its own particular attributes. Available in two trim levels, SE or SLE, and in your choice of coupe or convertible formats, Solara looks like a promising package. Under the hood you will find either a 2.4-liter 157-horsepower four-cylinder engine (new for this year) or a 3.0-liter 192-hp V6.

Either engine can be had in the SE model, but the premium-grade SLE comes only with the V6 and an automatic transmission. For buyers looking to get the maximum "sport" out of the Solara, the SE V6 with a five-speed manual is your best bet. Note that the Honda Accord Coupe V6 does not offer a manual transmission, or a convertible top, for that matter. Yessireebob, Toyota does give the consumer a wide variety of choice.

Safety is high on Toyota's list of priorities when it comes to the Solara, but the stuff that matters is optional. Base SE models don't come with standard ABS. Optional side airbags can be ordered on any model. If you purchase an SLE model, traction control can be checked on the options sheet. You can also get a JBL audio system, so long as you opt for the leather package. The anti-theft and engine immobilizer system is restricted to SLEs, while SEs come standard with a six-speaker cassette stereo.

Ultimately, the Solara is an older two-door Camry with more aggressive styling and minor suspension differences. Style takes precedence over utility. This makes it an OK choice, but the new Camry is clearly a better car than the old one. Go with the convertible if you seek something a little more whimsical.

What is the consumer reviews for the 2001 Toyota Camry Solara according to edmunds?

Have owned this card since October 2001. Bought it from Toyota of San Francisco. I was never big into Toyotas having driven only American cars. I have to say that American cars, in my opinion now are pieces of shit. The Solara has over 105K miles on it and aside from regular maintenance, I have had to do nothing more to keep this car in tip top shape. As opposed to my 1996 Dodge Intrepid which I bought brand new, had to replace its engine 2 times and transmission once before it hit $50K miles. The Solara is rock solid in build quality and is the most reliable car I have ever owned. Even after 11 years, the paint is perfect (no chipping or fading). No wonder the Japanese are dominant.

Favorite Features
All leather, 6 disc changer, great sound, V6 power. Great handling

Suggested Improvements
None. Except maybe. better gas mileage, but its a V6 so I know that to have power one must sacrifice gas economy.

What is the consumer reviews for the 2000 Toyota Camry Solara according to edmunds?

I bought my 2000 Solara used in '02 (with 61k) and had it for 10 years (ended at 162k). I had a 89 Beretta and 93 Civic before buying my 1st Toyota. Both were often in the shop so I bought this b/c of the Toyota reputation and it never let me down. In 10 yrs all I did was replace the brakes & battery twice, the alternator and the air conditioning. It rode smooth until some asshat hit & totaled it. It was even pretty good in the snow! If anyone is looking to buy a Solara I would highly recommend it--and trust me I'm not a "car guy". My family was always American car owners. Now everyone owns a Toyota. Well, except me, I bought a Lexus w/ all the $ I got for its high resale value!

Favorite Features
The classic exterior. The comfortable interior. The fact that I rarely had to do anything with the car other than put gas in the tank and oil in the engine.

Suggested Improvements
Sometimes in cold weather the audio system would freeze up and I couldn't change the radio station. And when the air was on high it would occasionally drip water on my feet.

What is the consumer reviews for the 1999 Toyota Camry Solara according to edmunds?

I'm on the verge of potentially trading in my dark green/tan leather 99 SLE w/ 157k. I do not want to get rid of it, but a 3 yr old and a newborn make a coupe impractical. Said simply, aside from some suspension issues, a valve cover gasket, and the backlight on the JVC stero going out, the car has been flawless and still looks fantastic. I get comments everywhere. Two recent ones were from the husband/owner of my sons' daycare, who wanted to take a spin, because he always wanted a Solara and never got one ("It's a Lexus with a Toyota badge" - his conclusion), and several less car savvy people who just cant believe its 11 years old.

Favorite Features
True, matching 5th wheel; timeless styling that got panned originally; smooth, comfortable ride; incredible build/design quality; sound quality of stock JVC stereo system is superb. The leather seats have held up well (except the steering wheel), and the two tone dash looks brand new.

Suggested Improvements
Biggest complaints are lack of remote trunk release, and mediocre fuel economy for a 200hp V6. The back bucket seats are surprisingly completely impractical for a baby seat. Okay, I'm nitpicking now. Still the best car I've ever owned (better than Porsche, VW, Honda). Gonna miss her.

2002 Porsche 911 Owners Manual

2002 Porsche 911 Owners Manual - Hello ladies and gentlemen welcome to Owners Manual blog. You are now reading the info about 2002 Porsche 911. Here we provide to you the link to download or buying this car's manual. But in this case, we strongly recommend you to to read the review first.

What is the consumer reviews for the 2002 Porsche 911 according to edmunds?

My 4th 911, first water cooled and the best of the lot. Reliable and an absolute blast to drive even around town. There is nothing like a 911, especially a rag top with the top down. I bought a museum quality car and keep it that way as a pleasure car. When I take it out I feel the bit of celebrity a Porsche 911 brings to the road. I love the power top and the complex way the rear deck comes up to hide it, but it squeaks when going up and down and has a small intermittent rattle. No real problem. Hope to own a 911 until I die and would be buried in one but it would be a shame to deprive someone else of the pleasure of driving the car.

Favorite Features
Style, style, style. Nothing is like a Porsche. Build quality, metallic paint, full leather interior, power, gear shift, and clutch. Cinnamon full leather interior.

Suggested Improvements
Top rattles a little, only intermittently and no problem. Porsche should offer touch up paint for custom color interiors. I have one or two small chips which a magnifying glass can find.
